may be surprised to know that these predatory journals have
become the shortest route to professorship in some Nigerian
Universities.  The quest for visibility in google scholar,
a criteria for promotion in Universities  like UNIZIK has
not helped matters. A worrying trend. Can someone in this
list serve take the trouble to compile a list of reputable
journals in the Social Sciences and Humanities, so we can
share with our colleagues in the faculties.

 Why is this predatory journal
being inadvertently advertised on this list? We should have
a spam filter to keep things like this out. It's bad
enough that our personal emails are bombarded by these
pay-to-publish scam journals. They shouldn't be getting
publicity on a listserv with a large membership lest we
become unwittingly complicit in their fraud.
