SV: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Open Letter: Anti Igbo Quit Notice In Northern Nigeria: What Federal Government, Southeast/South-south Leaders And Igbo Citizens Resident In Northern Nigeria Must Do

Citizens Nnamdi Kanu, Bright Chinezie, Benjamin Madubugwu, Dave Nwawuisi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe, to mention but a few, were picked up for no just cause and dumped in detention between six months and two years and more simply because they raised concrete issues non-violently regarding the decades long Federal Government's infamous policies of direct, structural and cultural violence against the people of Igbo Ethnic Nationality and other Ethnic Nationalities of South-South Nigeria - International Society For Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law.

With the above statement, especially with regards to the underlined, the credibility of this so-called International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law is greatly in doubt. To assert that Nnamdi Kanu was picked up for no just cause is a deliberate lie. Nnamdi Kanu has dual citizenship, Nigerian and British. In his Nigerian passport, he gave his name as Nwannekaenyi Nnamdi Ngozichukwu while in the British passport, he gave his name as Nnamdi Kenny Okwu Kanu. Nnamdi Kanu was arrested on 14 October 2015, in room 303, at Golden Tulip Essential Lagos Airport Hotel located at 42/44, Murtala Mohammed Airport Road, Ikeja, Lagos. None of his passport bore Nigerian immigration stamp to indicate his port of entry into Nigeria. In the room broadcasting and communication gargets set for use were found. He checked in into the hotel under a false name, Ezebuiro Nwanekaenyi. As for Nnamdi Kanu's associate, Benjamin Madubugwu, arms and ammunition were recovered in his home at Ubulusiuzor of Anambra State, in Ihiala Local Government Area. David Nwawuisi, on his part, is a Field Maintenance Engineer, employed by Ericsson on a monthly salary of N74,000.00 to manage 45 MTN masts in Enugu, State. He was paid N150,000 by an IPOB member, Chidibere Onwudiwe, to install Radio Biafra transmitter on MTN mast, for the purpose of broadcasting hate speech against Nigerians and to propagate the secession of Biafra from Nigeria. The Biafran transmitter operated for three months before it was discovered and Nwawuisi was arrested on July 15, 2015. In view of the aforementioned criminal acts, what does International  Society For Civil Liberty  And The Rule of Law mean by stating that they were picked up for no just cause? 

After pretending to defend the rights of their so-called ethnic Nationalities of the South-south the International Society then volta-faced to attack non Igbo States of Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Benue and Kogi for allegedly receiving stolen Igbo communities criminally ceded to them by the Federal government. Thus, one can envisage what territorial wars await the South-south states if an Igbo republic called Biafra is carved out of the present Nigeria.

Following the Arewa youths declaration urging reciprocity of returns of Hausa /Fulani and Igbo people, from the Southeast and the North respectively, to their ancestral place of birth within three months, because of incessant demand by IPOB and MASSOB for secession, the Society wrote, "It must also be clearly stated that a quest for political, cultural, economic or territorial self determination ... does not mandatorily require exodus of the citizens of the agitating ethnic group resident in particular part or other parts of the existing or mother political territory. For instance, despite the fact that the state of Israel gained its Independence since 1948, yet 50% of its pastoral people and 90% of their investments are still located outside Israel." This organisation should change its name to International Society of Pettifoggers. Indeed, the Arewa Youths should be applauded for exposing the hypocrisy of IPOB/MASSOB and their ethnic backers who all along have attributed the agitation for an Igbo republic because of the persecution, oppression, victimisation and marginalisation of the Igbo in Nigeria. Suddenly, it is now being admitted, indirectly, that the Igbo are living and prospering everywhere in Nigeria unmolested. Not only that, the supposedly, persecuted, oppressed, victimized and marginalized now claim that they own 74% of investments in Nigeria and control the economy of the country. Those who crave self determination because they are treated as conquered people in Nigeria would like not only to keep investments in Nigeria but to live in Nigeria as Diasporan Biafrans. Before anyone could ask why, the international pettifoggers erroneously compared their would be Biafra to Israel whose 50% of its pastoral people and 98% of their investments are still located outside Israel despite being Independent since 1948. Unlike Israel, the Igbo have their distinct ancestral land in the Southeast of Nigeria. Israel got back their ancestral land in 1948 as a result of the second world war. If Israel had demanded that part of any country in Europe should be carved out as a Jewish State because of persecution they would not have been allowed to retain their investments in any European country and to live there as Diasporan Jews. There is nothing International in this self-appointed Society when one considers the names of its proprietors, Emeka Umeagbalasi, Obiauju Joy Igboeli, Chinwe Umeche, Ndidiamaka Bernard and Florence C. Akubulo. At best, this is a National Society of Ohaneze Ndigbo and nothing more.
