Moving from place to place in an area and within the community you profess not be safe within is not only unwise, it is dangerous. Even unicellular animals know to move away from danger. It is also very unwise not to go home and build a strong community of your own if you feel threatened where you are, preferring to build other people's economy. It is even insane to continue to poke the eyes of your hosts thinking that they would not react one way or the other.
-- If the Igbos want to leave Nigeria, let them start preparing to leave. There does not need to be a plebiscite to move home. Refuse federal government money, and develop your states yourselves. Of course, within a decade, Igboland would have turned to Paradise and an oasis of peace and serenity. Nigeria,on the other hand, and Lagos in particular, would have become a puny little village. Other Nigerians would be knocking on the door of the Igbo nation, begging for food.
What do these rabble rousers want us to say? They want us to say that the Igbos won the war, never surrendered; came back to Lagos and rebuilt it; and but for the Igbos, the rest of Nigeria; would havel gone to blazes, and they are resonsible for 74% of the taxable wealth in Nigeria; OK, I personally agree they did all those things. Now, what is next?
Like I said, the majority of the Igbo people in Nigeria just want to live in peace with other Nigerians. They go about looking for their daily bread like other Nigerians. We trade together, laugh together, raise our children together, feel the pinch of a bad economy together, and what is more, hope for a brighter future together. And to these ones, I troway Salute .
