Blame for the relative obscurity of poetry in Nigeria should be on some poets who have over the years unnecessarily hidden poetry inside sanctums of esoteric temples. Poetry like drama and prose should be an instrument of mass socio-cultural and political mobilizations. These poets write for poets and critics only. This is a disservice to poetry. CAO.
