I agree withe some of the points made by El Rufai. But the unnecessary and incessant modifications of the Constitution, to suit whatever, is the continuation of impunity. We have to learn to obey our Constitution and work towards making good from it, under all circumstances. It is not impossible to build up a fresh and credible Register of Voters for Nigeria; even from now. We also say that this should be done. Again I nsist that this is Prof. Jega's task. If he thinks he can conduct any elections with what exists today as Register of Voters and, avoidably, mess his name up, let him go ahead. Otherwise with the current preasures to his advantage, he should press Government to provide money and resources for a fresh and credible Register of Voters for the 2011 elections. This is indeed the acid test for any intention to make 2011 acceptable! Please continue in Prayers. Ifedioramma Eugene Nwana Professor of Agriculture & Economic Entomology

Sat, 07/17/2010 - 10:04 — elombah "Why I want the elections Postponed"...My Conversation with El Rufai DANIEL ELOMBAH: You were quoted as calling for the postponement of the 2011 general elections and the May 29 handover date while speaking on 'Credible voters register' at a conference organised by Change Nigeria Project and the Save Nigeria Group (SNG) at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. For some us that admire your record of service to Nigeria, that call is troubling.
NASIR El Rufai: ...Daniel, I am not close to Jonathan and have made it clear that I will not be part of his administration.....it is up to Jega to decide....for me it is better to amend the Constitution to postpone the handover date to ensure that the adequate money, appropriate staff, communications infrastructure and trained monitoring personnel are on ground with an accurate voters register - thus leading to clean elections than rushing and repeating 2003 or 2007.
