Of river Nun,
Reddened water of river Niger,
Reddened by red corpuscles
Of bombed corpses
Flowed,
Polluting our corpulent virtues.
The sky scowled,
Amadioha sulked.
Our land flinched,
Ancestors frowned.
The hapless,
Hungry
And harassed
Called
To feed on crumbs
At the hackneyed feast,
But hacked
In macabre hailstorm
Huddled in Hades
Like Abel
In mosaic fiction,
To wait
For just judgment,
To wait
For Chukwu's coolant.
