USA Africa Dialogue Series - [Naijaintellects] RE: Distinguished Nigerians in America in the Biomedical field based solely on accomplishment and verifiable impact record

Dr. Ajayi,
This is a very useful list that can be update and organized for a deliberately designed multi-disciplinary Biomedical Science Program (research, training, teaching, capacity-building etc) that can be targeted to Nigeria. The Gates, Ford, or other foundations or public/private agencies such as the NIH, NSF etc may be interested in such skill/expertise-packed program. The extent to which Nigerian Govt will warm up to such an idea is unclear; leaders like Mallam Nasir el-Rufai understand the importance of such a group or the programs they present.
Besides, if somebody starts such a group/program, I will humbly follow and contribute my quota. I am tired of pursuing things with a single-minded objective to win for the group or community, while my colleagues have different PERSONAL agendas. I have seen myself labor and waste time and resources, only to end up differring philosophically and operational from some of my colleagues in Nigerian groups because they take steps that are antipathic and that are anti-theses of what our groups stand for. Take care. Joe Igietseme
