this list has engaged in a very strong debate over gaddafi and the pros and cons of supporting him or those opposing him.
you can't say one side is right because it embodies the real african point of view. for every bangura there is an ibironke, for every mugabe a tutu. and if we were to ask where this authentic view resided, we couldn't answer it without denying ourselves in the process.
we can try to establish principles on which to agree and debate how the situation relates to our positions, and hopefully an enlightened discussion will ensue as our claims offer themselves for others to critique.
