USA Africa Dialogue Series - Controlling Information: Who Holds the Power in the Internet Age?

This is a transcript of the opening remarks made at an event at Chatham House on 13 April 2011.The speakers evaluated to what extent power has been decentralized through the web, shifting more control to the individual:

  • What does this mean for the freedom of press, tranparency and democracy?
  • What are the security risks of too much unregulated access to information?
