Once again we gather with hope for an end to unnecessary suffering at the brink of a new socio-political era. What that era brings depends largely on the attitude, strategy and plans of the politicians who we have voluntarily spent our time and lost money from work closures to put in place to work for us in the political arena till 2015. Fellow Nigerians have employed them through the ballot box to work for them in the next four years. Unfortunately pre-election humility is often replaced by political arrogance. We need to replace the political arrogance of the past with permanent political humility. Please do not forget that your voters are your benefactors and require the dividends of democracy as their reward. Very few of the past politicians earned the names they took for granted. It is essential to reduce such demands and expectations by educating the citizenry and also the burden of harassment by young unemployed citizens who expect a handout.
