Oga Joseph,
Why are yiu contradicting the majority of opinions against the bombing of Libya and the monumental suffering inflicted on the people of African origin, you still can't get the reason/s why the bombing must stop. Are you in further support of re-colonization in the 21st century. I know you are a Nigerian, what has yiour country done with iits oils compared to the development that Gadaffi has brought to Libya with her. Please be democartic and non sentimental. The bombing must stop and NATO must get the hell out of Libya.Hammed

WE can neither be MISLED or MISINFORMED on this Libyan issue: the NATO bombing targets in Libya are Gadhafi's forces and military machinery used to perpetuate his despotic and tyrannical grip on Libyans. Libyans have CRIED to the international community to liberate the nation from Gadhafi's killing of innocent Libyans seeking freedom of expression and socioeconomic liberties guaranteed by the United Nations! Get the FACTS! GAHDAFI MUST GO!

Africa is not being bombed. The bombing campaign is against Qaddafi and his regime, which have shredded their legitimacy as sovereign authority, by their military campaign against Libyans, for seeking to drive the regime out of power.
I thank you.

USA Africa Dialogue Series - JUI crap-ism: Show your support for tomorrow's demonstration: Stop bombing Libya
Dont mind yeye man Joe Igietseme, the political infant happy to crawl into spaces singing: Bah Bah Black Sheep, have you any wolf?
He is typical of the Africans who have learned book but confused by simple practical application beyond the confines of earning a living in plantations abroad with a big boss as a demi-god. Even if he took a course in civics and morals, where did he learn that a group of nations with vested interests and payback schemes can order regime change in a sovereign nation and use shock, awe, maim and kill with bombs to that effect? Joe Igietseme can be blissfully ignorant outside his field but is barbarism a hidden talent?
People under the bangs of cognitive dissonance can still understand that it is not the moral or civic duty of Western powers to use their military forces to determine who will lead any African nation. For the sake of argument, let's even agree that Gaddafi is very bad. In a normal situation, the motion would still beg the questions: Bad by what and whose standard? Compared to who and who must he, therefore, account to? TO NATO?
In fact, it is a sickening gall when NATO injects itself in every cease fire mention and adamantly opposes any election as a solution. How is NATO is civil constituent in Libya? Meanwhile, as a foreign force, its members are more interested in divvying post reconstructions assets, a bonanza for Western contractors and AFRICOM. The rebels are monitoring who is on their side with not so subtle warnings. They make it obvious that Libyan wealth for bidders are for bomb era friends who helped them to overthrow Ghaddafi .
Just how much of Libya's independence are the minted rebels willing to sell out? Why don't they want a one-man, one vote supervised election? How do they reason that they are the sole representatives of the Libyan aspiration while being carried on the back of a coalition of former colonial masters and the US military supremacy? What legitimate leg do they stand on?
Why would one-third of the Libyan population turn out to protest NATO's bombing as recently as early July - yet the NATO-fed and led rebels think they can enforce their preconditions?
Wait. Are civilians being murdered in Tripoli where NATO is destroying day and night? How can bombing schools and orphanages be a sane conduct? Worse, Syria and Yemen kill protesters and the UN will not do jack. Does Joe Igietseme lapse into convenient amnesias six times a day? Or he owes Colonial Lugard a debt to be mentally caged?
In the immediate post-colonial Africa, one of the debilitating reasons why nothing changed, as Africa was still robbed and plunged into the abyss of unlimited sorrows, is because colonial powers either killed committed liberation leaders or destabilized a polity by divisive antics. In the aftermath, they installed their puppets and pulled the strings most viciously - especially when it came to NATO vs Warsaw Pact balance of power in Africa. Look at Congo, Angola, Namibia and all the proxy wars and ashes.
Africa is still paying the price for the inhumane exploits with the ghosts haunting - just as Western interests continue to foreshadow African development. True, Gaddafi questioned why Western nations should have stakes in the African Development Bank. Unlike what motor mouth Yahoo detractors spew, Gaddafi did not just talk, he walked and put up $30 billion for an African entity that would have rivaled IMF.
When France and the rest came up with a Mediterranean geopolitical ploy that would have brought North Africa closer to Europe and away from Sub-Sahara Africa, Gaddafi nixed and jinxed the idea. At an International Education Conference, Libya's presentation was clear that Libyans share a common African identity and destiny. Text books were changed to that effect to promote the pedagogy and Gaddafi apologized for Arab slavery of other Africans. If you want to ensure a generation of mental slaves, you first mis-educate them and they will embrace your realities at the expense of theirs.
While Joe Igeitseme is free to use Yahoo as everyone else, he may help himself and not constantly soil his diapers by swallowing and dispensing contaminated materials he watches on TV and Tarzan movies.
Western agents are on the grounds trying to pinpoint the exact whereabouts to assassinate Gaddafi. In what age are we living for such Machiavellian debauchery to pass as a UN resolution? In what other continent would this happen against the frown of the regional body?
In month four of the ceaseless bombardment of the country, the powerful NATO aiding the rebels have not won. There is no clearer depiction of David versus Goliath. Under economic sanctions and the seizure of Libyan funds by the US, Libya is providing scholarships for all Libyan students studying in the United States and also gives them monthly allowance, including funds for their dependents.
Hello?
Will Joe Igeitseme sponsor a stray goat with free grass if he is not looking for outlets to beat his chest like a gorilla in wild forest? That's what he does as, in his wilder fancies, he brought democracy to NIDO and, by extension, Nigeria itself. He cried loudest for the gorilla metaphor. His ancestors must have interceded to prevent his complete heart attack.
Obama should be more concerned with his own re-election prospects in light of a struggling economy and the need for black kids to close the achievement gap; not bombing other African children who go to school free and from decent living situations and neighborhoods deviod of the sorts of crimes and weary that he worked to redress as a community orgainzer in Chicago's South-side. If Obama wanted to prove his defense credentials to the right, he has lost his balance and turned off more Independents and Democrats than he will gain from the conservatives.
Okay, Gaddafi is bad. Compared to who? He has no mansion loot but builds houses for Libyans and no one sleeps under bridges and parks as they are in the NATO nations of bombers. A Libyan who is sick without the necessary facilities in Libya is flown abroad. Is it not only African presidents who use tax payers' monies to seek treatment broad?
Let's even look at Nigeria with the natural and human resources - including superlative talents. How can chaps like Cameron (Britain) and Sarkozy (France) be influencing a President of Nigeria to their benefits - if we Africans are not considered eager fools?
For those who believe in reincarnation, Joe Igeitseme is your guy for the prototypical colo-basket carrier. Back in the day of his previous life, when people were speaking on functional independence, he would have been dreaming about Lugard recommending him to Queen Victoria as a member of British parliament: The best pliable Negro since the pacification of what Lugard would call his "primitive tribe in lower Niger" as Chinua Achebe portrays the colonial concept in Things Fall Apart.
Yep, Joe Igeitseme is as happy as a lark. Good boy - but what a fella lost in exuberant dependency.
Joe Igeitseme and his type of Africans are clear and imminent danger if allowed to crow where a conscientious liberation of Africa is forged in both mental and material dimensions. Luckily, Yahoo is his best shot to shoot breeze, hear his own echo, and chase his tail.
MsJoe
