USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: "Chamber Of Charades" By Chidi Anthony Opara

Na wah oH! Thank you Chidi! Now' you've got to ignite hope and wish
Prez Jonathan & the bebble of Nigeria more Good Luck.

When I read " the mace marches in" the mind's eye imagines the
Nigerian version of this, all pomp and ceremony – and the High Court
Judges wigs in that heat:

You are going down as a chronicler of our Nigerian times. Blow by blow
your collected versions over the months and the few years now, here
tell the story of Nigeria, looking out of your window....
Appreciate. You always catch and transmit that feeling ("for peace no
one is willing") a feeling I sometimes catch in the wind. Not a nice
sound picture you paint but it's true. We've heard it all before I too
can hear them from here too - in the Nigerian music scene there was a
Fela when comes such another, "Oil dey flow underground like-e river"
all day long till 2011 & 419 but not forever Chancellor of the
Exchequer wanting to impress with all that "mumbo jumbo" you say they
murmur about X number of years development plans ( developing their
own pockets)

"Educated Fools
From-Uneducated Schools

Pimping People Is The Rule
Polluted Water In The Pool "

"waz wakin down di road
yet anotha day
when a hear anotha yout-man say

him seh:
me hafta pick a pocket
take a wallet from a jacket
me hafta do it real crabit
an´ if a lock it me hafta pop it
an´ if a safe me hafta crack it
or chop it wit mi hatchet

but me hafta make a raise
cause me come of age
an me want fi go rave " ( Linton Kwesi Johnson)
