Subject: Resumption of Killings
Dear Prof.,The recent two weeks or so in April have witnessed the return of killings in Plateau State. Except for the bomb blast at Tudun Wada in the night of Tuesday, April 24 in which some people were injured,as a Socer viewing center was targetted, and an earlier one in the same Tudun Wada, where a local beer drinking spot was targetted and some people injured at about Easter time; the other incidences have been outside Jos. About two weeks ago, a former Local government Councilor was shot dead in Barakin Ladi; up to three people were killed in separate incidences in the villages of the same Barakin Ladi LGA. This week Monday, three men were killed and their car set ablaze near Kura Falls, a tourist location in the State. Last night one person was killed in Riyom. In all cases, the killers have not been caught. But unlike previous incidences in which reactions had led to widespread violence, these attacks have gone almost unnoticed.
