Dear Friends of the African & Caribbean Diaspora:
In celebration of President Barack Obama's re-election to a second term and leadership as the 44th President of the United States of America, we are pleased to announce the First African Caribbean Diaspora Presidential Inaugural Ball to be held Monday, January 21, 2013; 7:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency, Capitol Hill, located at 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW Washington D.C. 20001. Of note, this year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech which has made an indelliable mark for justice for people everywhere. The program is being held on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and in that same spirit, a recognition will also be given to a number of distinguished leaders from throughout the diaspora who have done much to .remarkable contributions to the development of the diaspora and the United States, through education, spiritual leadership, politics and entertainment.
This event is being organized by the African Caribbean Diaspora Presidential Ball Committee (ACDPBC), a collaborative committee consisting of organizations seeking to ensure continuity among stakeholders for people of the Diaspora and includes: Virginia Caribbean Education Exchange Foundation (VCEEF), the Caribbean American Faith Based Leadership Council, The Hip Hop Caucus, business professionals, Diaspora and congressional representatives.
We are excited about the great amount of support that the first African Caribbean Diaspora Presidential Inaugural Ball has received and we are inviting your attendance and support. Tickets are $175.00 per person and $300.00 for VIP Entrance. There is also a $35.00 ticket option for The Future Leaders' Ball, a component of the event for youth ages 6 to 17. A percentage of proceeds is dedicated to creating academic scholarships for youth of the African-Caribbean diaspora both here in the US, in the African and Caribbean region.
Tickets, sponsorship opportunities and further event details are available at www.ACBall.eventbrite.com, or by contacting any member of the Committee.
Ticket will also be available at several African & Caribbean Restarants, Churches, Academic Institutions and other business enterprize. Pastor & Professional business leaders may contact Chaplain Yvonne Grinnell our Church & Business Relation Consultant at 848-565-5833 or Delano Ellis our Graphic Designer at 404-862-3630. The dead line for advertisment in the souvenir program booklet is January 16th, 2013.
Hotel parking is avalable at a reduced rate of $20.00 and sign language translation will be featured during the event.
