African Writers Forum

Publishers of Ize: Journal of New African
Writings
We write to inform you of the formation of a new
Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO): African Writers Forum (AWF) which has been
approved by the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja (CAC).


The aims and
objectives of this NGO are as follows|:
1. To encourage and promote new Nigerian and
African writings
2. To encourage research in Pigin English and indigenous
languages
3. To promote a translation of literature from
English to Nigerian languages
4. To
work with other Associations at home and abroad that share similar aims and
aspirations
5. Organise conferences, workshops and seminars
and publish a literary journal
6. To seek, discover and encourage emerging
talents.


The members of the
Board of Trustees are as follows:
1. Dr. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh – Chairman
2. Professor Sunnie Ododo - Member
3. Mr Philip A. John - Member
4. Mr Hyacinth Obunseh – Secretary


Interim Executive
Council is as Follows:
1. Hyacinth Chukwunwike Obunseh – President
2. Anna Ijeoma Obunseh – General Secretary
3. Kelechi Nwafuru – Publicity Officer
4. Philip Agholor John – Treasurer
5. Odili Ujubuonu - Auditor
6. Isaac Attah Ogezi – Legal Adviser
7. Jacinta Chizoba Ogbonna – P. A. President


We intend to celebrate two literary
icons and publish a literary journal before the end of the year. We also seize
this opportunity to inform that we are not in competition with any group that
we severally or jointly belong to. We
respect the rule of law and will keep our activities open to the general
public, so help us God.
