In response to my loud complaints about the shoddy website of the University of Nigeria Nsukka and the fact that the university has not seen it fit to put up a tribute, I promptly got a promise to clean up the web link (it has as you can see from this clean uncluttered interface) and this nice note:
Dear Ikhide Ikheloa.
Greetings. Read your stricture on the University of Nigeria concerning transcripts. We note your concern. However, here are the facts of the matter.
The I-Transcript service at UNN took off only recently. It is incidentally one of the first in our country whereby graduates can apply online for their transcripts. Because of a huge database, the University is uploading the sets gradually. UNN has uploaded the last 30 years counting from the most recent. They are uploading the latter years as well. PG transcripts are available the old fashioned way now but would soon also be available through online transfers.
The presentation on the website ought to have been more explicit and the university is taking steps to correct it. Thanks for pointing it out.
On Achebe, UNN issued a tribute and has opened a condolence register in the Admin Building. The tribute would go online in the next 24 hours.
Once again, thanks for your observations.
- Chido Nwakanma, Public Relations Adviser, Vice chancellor UNN
Yayyyy! Hurrah for advocacy. The struggle continues! Thank you, Chido. *cycles away slowly*
