(Poem By: Chidi Anthony Opara)
Hoodlums mouth repentance,
Doves dote on dragons,
Officialdom officiate
In the funeral of fairness.
Bloody palms
Are placed atop
A shaky table of negotiation.
Smouldering guns
Are still slung on shoulders.
Cups
Brimming with blood
Clutter
The table of negotiation.
On one side
Fear stricken fellows
Huddle,
Nodding.
On the other side,
Hoodlums loom,
Humming hate.
Ghosts
Of the massacred
Haunt
Apostles of amnesty.
