celebrate the "Father of African Literature"

Venue: Room 270 Residence Commons, Carleton University, Ottawa
 
Featuring: Spoken Word performances, Readings from Achebe's works, Tributes, and Music; Special appearance: Traditional Flute player.
 
Guest artistes include:

    * Segun Akinlolu (aka Beautiful Nubia), poet, folk singer, and musician.
    * George Elliot Clarke, winner of the Governor-General's Award for Poetry, and the inaugural E.J. Pratt Professor of Canadian Literature at the University of Toronto
    * Titi Sonuga, Edmonton-based award-winning spoken word poet
    * Obiora Udechukwu, poet and Distinguished Dana Professor of Arts and Art History, St Lawrence University, USA
    * Komi Olafimihan (artist, spoken word poet, and photographer, Toronto)
    * Olu Oguibe, poet, artist and Professor of Art and Art History and Associate Director of the Institute for African American Studies at the University of Connecticut.
    * Keisha Monique Simpson (spoken word poet, Toronto)
    * Okey Ndibe, author of Arrows of Rain and Visiting Professor, Brown University, USA.
