The African Studies Association 2013 Election Committee has concluded the ballot count of the 2013 elections, and we are pleased to announce the election results:
The Vice President-elect is Toyin Falola (History, University of Texas, Austin).
The three Board Members-elect are: Ousseina Alidou (Languages and Literatures, Rutgers University), Peter Lewis (African Studies, Johns Hopkins University), and Peter Little (Anthropology, Emory University).
The ASA Board of Directors congratulates the new officer and directors and extends its sincerest appreciation to all the candidates for their willingness to serve the Association.
The ASA Board of Directors also wishes to thank the ASA members who served on the 2013 Election Committee: President Abdi Samatar (University of Minnesota), Vice President James Pritchett (Michigan State University), Past President Aili Tripp (University of Wisconsin, Madison), and Edward Ramsamy (Rutgers University). The count was managed by ASA Executive Director Suzanne Baazet.
