What Sickle-Cell Means To Me
It means
The falling
Of growing grains;
Sickled
Before ripeness.
It means
That dreams
Will be drowned
In glutton earth.
Dreams:
Fated horsemen
Of dying kings.
It meant
The death
Of promising Mariam:
Foreseen,
Yet unavoidable
It is
Bereavement
Unleashed
Upon our world:
Another
Desperate measure
By depopulating heavens.
