Dear Colleagues,
Greetings from the Social Science Research Council’s African Peacebuilding Network (APN).
The APN is pleased to announce the launch of several research grant initiatives for the 2013-2014 year. In addition to the APN’s annual Individual Research Grants, we will also be inviting proposals for our new Residential Postdoctoral Fellowships and Collaborative Working Group Grants. You will find all necessary and relevant information about them by visiting our website athttp://www.ssrc.org/programs/apn/ and clicking the appropriate links provided. (Please note that the deadline for the Collaborative Working Group grants is December 31, 2013, while the deadline for both the Individual Grants and Postdoctoral Fellowships is February 1, 2014.)
We had a very successful group of grantees for the 2012-2013 year and trust these future grants and fellowships will continue to support independent African research on peacebuilding in conflict-affected countries and neighboring regions of the continent, as well as the integration of African knowledge into global policy communities.
The APN would also like to kindly draw your attention to our online peacebuilding forum,Kujenga Amani, which has gained increasing attention over the past few months. We thank those who have already contributed for their thought-provoking and poignant pieces. If you have not had a chance to do so, please visit the forum online athttp://forums.ssrc.org/kujenga-amani/. We encourage everyone to visit the site and share it with your respective networks.
You may also now follow the APN on Twitter (@KujengaAmani) and keep up with regular news and updates.
Thank you for supporting the program as we work towards the emergence of a critical mass of highly skilled and engaged African researchers in the field of peacebuilding on the continent. For those interested in the call for proposals, I wish you the best of luck and look forward to your submissions.
Kind regards,
Cyril Obi
