Surely Olusegun Obasanjo, whatever else you may think of him, deserves to be on the list, because when Mandela was a political prisoner Obasanjo was a head of state working as hard as anyone to get him out, and when Obasanjo was a political prisoner, Mandela was a head of state working as hard as anyone to get him out.
