USA Africa Dialogue Series - Colloquium in Honour of Toyin Falola: Contemporary Issues in Education, Arts, the Social Sciences, and Sciences

Colloquium in Honour of Toyin Falola: Contemporary Issues in Education, Arts, the Social Sciences, and Sciences, Thursday, November 27th, 2014, Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode, 9AM to 5PM

 

To mark the award of an honorary doctorate bestowed on Professor Toyin Falola by the Tai Solarin University, you are invited to participate in a one-day colloquium in his honour on the theme of Contemporary Issues in Education, Arts, the Social Sciences and Sciences.  The colloquium is being organized by a generation of younger scholars in collaboration with the management and staff of Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijebu-Ode.  

 

Professor Toyin Falola, a Distinguished University Professor and the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities  at the University of Texas at Austin, is one of Africa’s celebrated intellectuals. His scholarship encapsulates studies in the Humanities and the Social Sciences, with implications on the Sciences.  This colloquium is an overview of contemporary developments in these fields of studies where Professor Falola has made his marks and provided interventions over the decades.

 

 The venue of the colloquium is Tai Solarin University of Education at Ijagun, in the ancient city of Ijebu-ode.  

 

Abstracts of not more than 250 words which focus on contemporary developments in these fields of studies are welcome and  should be sent to :

The deadline for submission of abstract is immediate. Because of the short duration of this notice, draft papers are accepted. Completed papers will be assessed after the colloquium and publishable ones will be included in the volume in honour of Professor Toyin Falola.

 

Free accommodation and food will be provided to all paper presenters.
