Dan:
As I wrote earlier, the cooking stove idea is one of the overt signs
of desperation by a failed political party and a President that have failed to
provide the dividends of democracy since 1999 with a further worsening
of the sitauation since Yar'adua and Jonathan assumed office in 2007
The only category of Nigerians who are happy with GEJ and the status quo are the
wealthy, the well connected, the upper class and the upper middle class.
This category of Nigerians who constitute less than 5 % of the Nigerian population own
and control 80% of the total wealth of Nigeria both in solid and liquid assets.
The World League of Accountants held their annual worldwiide convention in Rome, Italy
three weeks ago. About 1/3 of the passengers on the fully loaded AirBus-300 that I flew in to Abuja
a fortnight ago, were Nigerian delegates returning home from the conference.
I sat next to one of the younger delegates who informed me that Nigeria had the largest number
of delegates at the conference--1500 out of a total of 6,000 worldwide.
Even if we assume that only 1/3 of the delegates are from the public sector in Nigeria, it would mean\
that the Nigerian taxpayer had just spent a lot of money in foreign currencies on about 500 of
these government delegates. The Nigerian delegation was several times larger than those from
Italy the host country!
This is another example of needless waste of money by governments at all levels in Nigeria and a further
drain on the Nigerian foreign reserves.
While in Berlin for a meeting last month, I met a Nigerian who informed me that the Nigerian delegation
to the annual Davos Meeting of the G8 usually has about 20 expensive Mercedes and BMW limos
with a Chauffer always ready should in case the principals might be expecting a guest. He stated that the
drivers simply sit in their cars waiting to be called. On most days of the conference the vehicles and the drivers
do not leave the spots in which they are packed. The Nigerian government pays about US6,000.00 per week
on each one of the vehicle rentals inclusive of the fees of the chauffer.
It is to see how Dieziani could easily blow billions of nira over six years renting limos, and chartering
private jets over a period of 5 yto 6 years as Oil minister.
At the rate our current generation, led by the current President is frittering away the resources of
our motherland, there is no doubt that that the future of the coming generations of Nigeria is being mortgaged
for another one to two centuries.
For chane we need a credible and strong willed Leader in Nigeria, a tightwad (for change), who would ask hard questions
before disbursing a kobo of public funds.
We need a President who genuinely cares for the welfare of ordinary Nigerians and not one who is comfortable budgetiing
2 billion Naira for food and entertainment at Aso Rock annually!
Bye.,
Ola

Did Nigerian rural women complain of being tired of cooking , using their usual fuel, firewood?
How many Iroko trees are cut down a year in Nigeria for the purpose of making fire wood?
What are the health problems associated with use of fire woods?
Asthma ? Where is the data. Lung cancer? Where is the data, proof ?
House hold fire hazards ? Blindness?
What fuel would these free stoves use? Solar or fossil fuels like kerosene or Natural gas or electricity?
Did the rural women say they have been starving because they do not have stoves to cook?
My people, Nigerian leaders are pure dummies and the president, a PHD holder, is ........., excuse my unspoken words.

Thanks for sharing!
Na wa O for Naija!
This is a ridiculous but interesting twist on the
Stomach Infrastructure formula!
These are desperate times for the ruling party in Nigeria.
The FGN is doing everything possible to buy the
people's votes after its massive failure to improve
even by a tard the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians!
