RE: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Overzealousness on Buhari/APC

What do you mean by "clannish"? Is the other side- your side, not clannish too? Is this a case of a chicken calling a turkey poultry? Some introspection is necessary before characterizations and labels are applied to those one disagrees with.

Buhari and the APC are legitimate subjects of public concern and debate for all Nigerians as are President Jonathan, other election candidates and their parties. All candidates' history, past performance, pronouncements and other stated public positions, and their state of health among others, are legitimate issues of public interest, especially for the offices of president and vice president. Any attempt to stifle passionate debate on serious public interest issues, by characterizing them as " a zest to discredit" an election candidate, is possibly a dubious attempt to prevent important legitimate conversations.

A beauty of healthy, civil, and intelligent conversations is that disagreeable claims may be freely challenged, sometimes vigorously, on the basis of facts not bias, persuasion, preference, supposition, and least of all name calling.

Nigeria is the underdevelopment gutter she is in today because their political leaders and public office holders tend to be vetted after and not before they assume important public offices.

The zest to discredit Buhari/APC by the so-called critics is very nauseating. It's very disturbing that these clannish Nigerians are parading themselves as concerned citizens. And don't get me going on the so-called "Third Force".

I'm glad the pending election in Nigeria is exposing many among us that are very clannish. I lost respect for many...
