USA Africa Dialogue Series - Feb. 28. All Set!! Music Diva Thriller - ZAINA at the Voice and Valor: Martin Luther King Builder and Patron Awards-Dinner and Tribute to Black History Month 2015

Thank You! All Set for Saturday Feb. 28, 2015 for this significant and historic event. Once again, congratulation  to the Honorees (scroll on the right in the eNewsletter - all confirmed). To the can-do-reliable leaders extraordinaire who stepped up to make this a success!... special shout out to MedGuinea, Geebamu,  Martinsburg Pediatrics, Benin Diaspora's Vice President Olatoundji and the Honorary Chair Dada Ganiyu of Kofa International. Well, what about Harriet Shangaria, the Vice President of Tanzanians in the DMV! A  lady with faith in the possible! Because you believe, a resounding leadership with integrity is evident as never before in the African community... to answer life's most persistent and urgent question by Martin Luther King: What are you doing for others?

Thank You, the Volunteer Teachers of Black History Month. You braved the snow in furtherance of knowledge and held up the morale in face of the uncertainty of weather.  We appreciat your understanding and brilliant, creative  idea of Dance History on Friday Feb. 27. In effect, you solved the issue of over-booked program by agreeing to have the youth targeted event on Friday due to space limitation.  To all the 360 reserved guests in both events,  your commitment.....rock with fortitude!

Our Designer Decorator is Kelly Wedding and Decors, the Social Entrepreneur as no other....

Voice and Valor: Martin Luther Builder and Patron Dinner and Appreciation of Black History Month
The Community Builder Caucus is delighted to host the Voice and Valor: Martin Luther King Builder and Patron Awards-Dinner and Appreciation of Black History Month. This milestone program is unique its reflection of  multicultural America and the power of civic engagement and constituency partnerships in building livable communities. Patronage of the efforts enable viable institutions that improve the quality of life in the civil society.

 Voice and Valor

The United States is a riveting story of  the tapestry of America's diversity. The narratives may be unique with each population and generation but the contributions and  shared responsibility intersect to build a better nation.

The program salutes the voice and valor of individuals and institutions  that promote an  equitable, inclusive  and humane society in  our increasingly global and inter-connected society. In deed, new and emerging Continental African community (African immigrants and descendants ) are beneficiaries of these ideals won and championed by institutions,  men and women of diverse racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds and offices. We say thanks to the Honorees who embody the spirit of sacrifice, duty, conscience and moral courage.

The program also celebrates  Black History Month. " The history of African Americans is unique and rich, and one that has helped to define what it means to be an American. Arriving on ships on the shores of North America more than 300 years ago, recognized more as possessions than people, African Americans have come to know the freedoms fought for in establishing the United States and gained through the use of our founding principles of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to assembly, and due process of law. The ideals of the Founders became more real and more true for every citizen as African Americans pressed us to realize our full potential as a Nation and to uphold those ideals for all who enter into our borders and embrace the notion that we are all endowed with certain unalienable rights." Barack Obama

During the Black History Month, volunteers are  teaching African American History and conducting education tours to historic African American sites.
