Ikhide Ikheloa is a man who is not new to the struggle for a Nigeria that all Nigerians can be proud of. Right from his more youthful days when he was part of the pro-democracy struggle, joining forces with others to run Radio Kudirat, Ikheloa has never shied away from speaking his mind. He describes himself as "highly opinionated to the point of distraction."
A graduate of the University of Benin, Pa Ikhide – as he is called by his admirers – has been resident in the United States since 1982, from where he shares his opinions on everything from the death of 'books' to the place of prominent individuals in our history books; from his perpetual youthfulness to Nigeria's frustrating inability to come of age. Ikheloa is very active on social media especially on Facebook and Twitter, and of course on his blog.
Editor of The ScoopNG, Stanley Azuakola, spoke with Ikheloa on the 2015 presidential elections and his positions on the leading contenders. He was unsparing of the two leading candidates, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP. He however said that if he was forced to pick between the two of them, he will "choose the PDP and go throw up afterwards."
