Ken,
Posting without comment does not imply endorsement--I've never heard that in any social media forum. It could just mean FYI. I clearly stated my position on Eritrea and I am skeptical of "mainstream sources." This particular post is about Eritreans organizing to opposed what is in their view biased reporting, which I support. The UN gets things wrong. They got things wrong in Libya. They are currently occupying Haiti (MINUSTAH) and circumventing the will of the people.

posting this without comment almost implies an approval. the situation, by all reasonable accounts, in eritrea is awful. the previous postings from folu and pablo struck me as two different rhetorical registers: folu striking against the tyrranical situation; pablo trying to give us some measure of understanding. i thought it a shame that two such important voices on the list be seen as striking opposing stances, whereas they were more or else stating, or explaining, a situation that is bad to intolerable.
no one can explain away the terrible conditions in eritrea unless all the postings from reliable mainstream organizations, human rights orgs that have no stake in statist interests, are all wrong.
i believe it is politically blinkered to accept anything less than a strong judgment condemning the political situation, i.e., the torture, oppression, etc, currently dominant in eritrea.
so i don't understand what you are doing with this posting. surely you are not an apologist for what is happening there now?
