By Chidi Anthony Opara
With tag of renegade
I rendered my renditions,
Singing all days,
All nights,
Serenading the sorrowful,
The sleepless,
Awake
At awkward hours
In halls of hopelessness.
I sang for drudges
Denied songs
By vain singers
Who sing
In sequestered sessions.
Like a choked chorister
My voice recedes,
Longing for recess.
Like a swan
Swimming out of sea,
I sail to recess
Singing.
