A Nigerian Ten Year Old Female Suicide Bomber killed 19 people in Damaturu, North Nigeria.
When I read this news, my immediate reaction is what is the future for our dear country, Nigeria?
We are not at war but the killings are on every time. We should maintain peace and strife for progress, harmony, and reduce conflict.
This is the right time to invest very heavily on our children in many productive field . Sending them to war for any immediate gain is not the answer to the complex problems ahead of the country. We parents, regardless of our religious solidarity, must honestly discourage children from addiction t o destruction of life and property.
This behavior is gaining ground in North Nigeria where there is total misinterpretation of what constitutes peaceful living. The case of Boko Haram is an unpleasant example which the previous administration of Jonathan failed to address as a fire on the roof. It behooves the administration of President Buhari to play soft on Boko Haram.
Please I am appealing to all parents to kindly talk to their children to drop their weapons and refrain from the deceit of Boko Haram . Children who were drawn into conflict/ war in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Afghanistan, Ruwanda and many other places blamed themselves at the end of the war. Let us work together to solve the problem of Boko Haram and face other pressing needs like light, water, road safety employment and others.
