"When asked if he had any regret in the role he played in the heartless murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and the 'Ogoni 9', Col. Hamid Ali, who was the Secretary General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) said he had no regrets over his role in the process that led to Saro-Wiwa's execution," that according to www.opinionriver.com. However, www.naija.com wrote, "Reacting to the cold-blooded murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight Ogoni's locals, Col. Ali said he had no shame over his role in the judicial process that led to Saro-Wiwa's execution." Certainly, there is difference between having no regrets and having no shame. Someone with evil intention must be putting these words into the mouth of Col. Ali. For clarification, Ikhide must be able to tell readers who asked Colonel Ali or to whom was he reacting about the executed death sentence on Saro-Wiwa.
www.naija.com informed readers that, "the Abacha government set up a special tribunal led by Justice Ibrahim Auta together with the Kaduna-based prosecutor, Joseph Bodunrin Daudu, after falsely accusing Saro-Wiwa of orchestrating the death of four Ogoni elders." If you want justice, you must practise justice. It is unjust not to mention that the Attorney General of the Federation under Abacha was Michael Agbamuche and apart from Justice Ibrahim Auta, a Lagos High court Judge then, Justice Etowa Eyong Arikpo, a Judge in the Cross River State High Court, were two of the three members of the tribunal that tried Saro-Wiwa and the eight Ogonis. It is mischievous to exclude the name of Justice Arikpo from three members of the tribunal so as to make it look as if the tribunal was composed of Hausa ethnic group with a Yoruba prosecutor.

"One more appointee of President Muhammadu Buhari has drawn the attention of the media – Colonel Hamid Ali (rtd). His biography has many interesting facts.
Hamid Ali was chosen by the Abacha regime as a member of the kangaroo tribunal that sentenced the famous environmentalist and minority rights activist Ken Saro-Wiwa to death by hanging.
The new comptroller general of customs, Colonel Ali, was a military administrator of Kaduna state from 1996 to 1998 under the dictatorial regime of the late general, Sani Abacha.
Reacting to the cold-blooded murder of Ken Saro-Wiwa and eight other Ogoni locals, Col. Ali said he had no shame over his role in the judicial process that led to Saro-Wiwa's execution.
Hamid Ali is 77-year-old Buhari's newly appointed head of customs."
