Gentlemen,

Have you read any of the two Islamic books written by late Justice Muhammad Bashir Sambo? If you have not read them, why do you think they are good or not good for our schools? 

President Buhari might have read them and if he feels they are good for our students because that is one of the best ways to influence the mindset of the young ones right there in the secondary schools , there is no evil intended in my view. It is rather one of the best ways to set the students free from a parochial teachings that led to Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria. 

President Buhari is in charge of the country and he can direct any ministry to do what he thinks is best for the nation because he is the only one the electorate will hold accountable. 

The loyalists of the PDP and those who are still gnashing their teeth for the defeat of their political party should concentrate on positive direction that President Buhari is leading the country so far. Ikhide, Adepoju, Ogugua and colleagues of like mind should please rethink their destructive criticisms of the present leadership of the country and allow President Buhari to do what the electorate want him to do.

If the above report is true, Nigerians should be worried about the course of the Buhari presidency.

The president should have no role dictating/directing the education curriculum of Nigeria's academic institutions. He has no business forcing book of his choice on the institutions. What dictation/directive outside his purview, will it be next? He should focus on the big picture, develop policies and programs, put together competent operating teams to get things done, and of course supervise them without breathing steamily over the team members' shoulders. y

Obasanjo as president had a 'messiah complex'. He was distrusting and disrespectful of people with views different than his. He seemed to have eaten of an "insane root" that blinds the mind to understanding and other appreciation of different opinion. He was deeply obsessed with micromanagement as would be expected of an authoritarian leader. Has Buhari eaten of same, or another "insane root"- that which causes him to want to be an authoritarian and partisan leader when he was elected to be a team-player national leader?  What about books on African religion/spirituality?  He seems to have a huge chip on his shoulder- which seldom serves a national leader well? It is difficult to see how he can really move all Nigeria forward if he remains obsessed as he seems to be, with restoring an unprogressive ascendency when he should be building for an inclusive  progressive future. His campaign promise was to leave Nigeria better than he found her on assuming the office of president. The hope remains that he will.
