Ayo:
While in your essay, you clearly identified a set of shortcomings associated with the governance of a host of states in Nigeria, including your point that state governors have, in given cases, projected themselves, and indeed, acted as the law within their zones of authority and have by so doing, emasculated their legislative houses which implicitly have failed in their constitutionally-mandated oversight function, you then went on to prescribe a solution which does not flow logically from your argument. While you have not made a case that the state governments are relatively weak or do not have sufficient authority to take care of their affairs (in fact, you have made a contrary argument), you went on, however, to prescribe " ... a restructuring of the country in order to make it so federal that it will empower the states." What additional powers/empowerment do the already tyrannical governors need? Does your argument necessitate additional powers to the states or, in fact, a constitutional reform to provide for some form of federal oversight of state governors who clearly have shown themselves as above-the-law overloads of their areas of jurisdiction?
