Historical evidence suggests the courts could be partial to either the prosecution or the defense for pecuniary benefits. We have see many defendants railroaded both in Nigeria and te Westernworld because the judiciary is most willing to do the bidding of the state.

That's assuming that the court is impartial. And that the course of the law has not been adjusted by filthy lucre. I rest my case!
