Dear friends and colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to this very important event as your friend, fellow concerned citizen, and as well as professional in the Humanities.
For several years now, African Views organization has been engaged on many aspects of Sustainable Development Goals. However, Goal 5 (Women), Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls; Goal 10- Inequality - Reduce inequality within and among countries; Goal 16 Institutions - Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels -- have been one of the primary focus of our work. Anti Violence Against Women Act is a fresh perspective that identifies an imperative path to peace and security for developing countries. Starting with Africa, where the problem takes many shapes and remain largely elusive, we propose a petition to all African Nations to present its unique comprehensive plan on exactly how it understands the challenges faced by its women and how it plans to fulfill the promises made to protect and empower women within its own constitution. This advancement of women is a general concern without boundaries, so we are making a global call to support Anti Violence Against Women Act (AVAWA) as a sustainable strategy for peace and security in Africa.
The AVAWA program is currently over 2000 women strong in one country alone. We need you to help us bring this to the consciousness of the majority of people and support make this program a grassroots reality everywhere. The probability of success is high and your support will strengthen the advancement of women from the ground up. I invite you to become a champion this cause. Join us at 221 E. 52nd street at 4:30 PM tomorrow for our CSW parallel session with the United Nations. I am counting on your support, and thank you for rising up to this occasion.
