Not only did the esteemed Professor Wole Soyinka allow himself to be victimized by the plethora of fake news that preceded the recent US presidential election (he could have avoided the embarrassment that he trust upon himself by consulting privately with a cross-section of USA-based fellow scholars to whom has unlimited access), I resent his characterization of Nigerians who rationally disagree with his impulsive Green Card announcement as "stupid." Who really has turned out to be stupid in all of this totally avoidable Green Card drama?

Can someone close to Soyinka let him know that he is the victim of fake news, that Trump never ever said anything about Nigerians, that the quote he read about what Trump allegedly said about Nigerians started as satire by "FNN," which stands for Fake News Network, and amplified as "truth" by credulous, incurious people?
