Chidi,
Thank you for your figurative Igbo language that twists EZE to mean PROPERITY!! However, in Chinua Achebe's book, Home and Exile, and under the subtitle, My Home Under Imperial Fire, readers are informed thus, "In all probability they (the Igbo) would not wish to live under the rule of Kings. The Igbo did not wish to, and made no secret of their disinclination. Sometimes one of them would, believe it or not, actually name his son Ezebuilo: A King is an enemy (p. 16)." In fact, I first encountered the word EZEBUILO in a book written by an Igbo professor of History in which he narrated the history of Igbo resistance against the introduction of warrant chiefs in Igboland and the indigenization of Warrant Chief to EZE, King, which resulted in the terminology, EZEBUILO. I am not the one interpreting the extremely dark and black history of our country and no matter how much you try, Chidi, you can't bleach it white.

You interpreted the adage "Eze bu iro (ilo)" literally. The adage is normally interpreted figuratively to mean that "prosperity attracts ill will"
CAO.
