USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: [camnetwork] Sunday, 1 October 2017 Set as Independence Restoration Day for Southern Cameroons - Roadmap Highlights

Hello People:

Seasonal greetings:

I am just helping to fill in the gaps.   Ntumfoyn Boh Herbert (Yindo Toh) forgot to sign with his traditional title and copy AfoAkom groups. Independence or Revolution, like Charity, begins at home. No bi so? The great beauty about freedom of speech and affiliation is that they are congenially divorced from intolerance when other people practiced them. So hopefully,  Cameroonians of any persuasion or side of the River Mungo can opine without harassment and personalized insults.

I noticed, in accordance with the Independence and date set, the citizens-to-be would be protesting outside people's homes. Why? This can be deemed as yeye business and rascally inclined with  willful provocations, terrorizing children in the homes,  and violating personal liberties . How can you declare or get independence from civilians' homes? Can you imagine Robert Lee, during the South's clamoring for independence,  asking Americans in the South to go and protest at the homes of people? Or  the Ikemba - Dim Odumugwu Ojukwu of Biafra reducing himself to frightening babies? During the Aburi Accord of 1967,  the sheer courage and intellect of the Ikemba made Gowon and the rest look like groundnut planters. That is another story for another day. Okay,  Baba Afis of Oduduwa , Uncle Jay of Idoma and Esq. Ayo, a Buharit, I am making a comparative reference, not challenging  Awolowoists.

I suggest more proper conduct, and love for women and children.  Don't you all agree? Peace is priceless.

Take care everyone.
MsJoe

Subject: [camnetwork] Sunday, 1 October 2017 Set as Independence Restoration Day for Southern Cameroons - Roadmap Highlights

Sunday, 1 October 2017: Independence Restoration Day for Southern Cameroons

A detailed roadmap showing several steps, strategic actions and campaigns expected to culminate on Sunday, 1 October 2017 in Buea, South West Region, with the restoration by an Interim Congress of the independence of Southern Cameroons was released Sunday at a townhall meeting in Maryland, USA.

The roadmap has been put together by the Movement for the Restoration of the Independence of Southern Cameroons (MoRISC) whose objective is to use all non-violent ways to enthrone a government based on popular consent, deriving authority and legitimacy from the people of Southern Cameroons, not from decrees or the might of the Government of La Republique which, since 1961, has been injurious to citizens' rights to life, freedom, independence, equality and dignity.

Here are a few highlights from the roadmap:

Effective 1 January 2017 and lasting until 30 September 2017 – Ghost Towns, once a week (every Monday); a Prayer for the Peaceful Restoration of Independence to be said in all churches on Sundays and all mosques on Fridays across Southern Cameroons; Governors, SDOs, Dos, to be delegitimized as colonial officers to be replaced by elected officials such as councilors, mayors, MPs and Senators. The House of Chiefs and Fons to be reconstituted as the Upper Chamber of the New Interim Congress whose Lower Chamber will include elected officials and leaders of other organizations (trade unions of lawyers, teachers, student unions, Okada taxi bike riders, women's groups, etc.)

Once every month until September 2017 – Southern Cameroonians to hold a monthly day of shaming colonialism in street protests outside the homes of residents.

Boycott Campaigns – A series of boycotts are included in the roadmap. Under the plan, Southern Cameroonian citizens are invited to boycott all events called, organized or presided by Governors, SDOs, and/or DOs seen as colonial officers sent by Yaounde to lord it over the people. Also to be boycotted are celebrations to mark the so-called Youth Day – really Plebiscite Day for Southern Cameroons (11 Feb. 2017); Women's Day Celebrations (8 March 2017); and the so-called Reunification (20 May 2017).

Ambassadors, Governors, SDOs & DOs in Waiting – The roadmap envisages the election by Southern Cameroonians in the Diaspora of Ambassadors-in-Waiting who will begin lobbying on behalf of the Restoring Independence and Recognition of the New State; the election by elected councilors, mayors, MPs, Senators and Chiefs/Fons of Governors-in-Waiting and of a Government-in-Waiting.

Worldwide Diaspora Conventions – Southern Cameroonian Diaspora worldwide are convened for 11 February 2017, according to the roadmap, to hold a major conference to, among others, agree ways of raising funds for the struggle.

Interim Government of Southern Cameroons – The House of Chiefs and Fons along with the Lower Chamber of the New Interim Congress of Southern Cameroons will elect the interim government of Southern Cameroons on 21 April 2017, the anniversary of the adoption of the resolution by the United Nations General Assembly granting Southern Cameroons independence.

Sunday, 1 October 2017 – The Interim Government, the New Interim Congress of Southern Cameroons, Ambassadors-in-Waiting, and Delegations from all across Southern Cameroons and the Diaspora convene in Buea, South West Region for the Declaration of the Restoration of Independence.

Mr. Mayor; all on your proposed list but Elad if he is the barrister I know who  headed the SCNC mission to the UN some years back with the Munzos could attend the meeting. If the Elad on your list is the barrister in question, they you could as well invited Popo to sit on the Anglophone bench and defend you right. Please do not be deceived by a name. Although Mbo na Mbo, the name Elad cuts from the English Speaking Mbo side of Cameroon to the francophe side of the country.

I suggest we do some investigative journalism into the roots of the people to go in and study their vision for that part of the country before they are summoned for such a talk. That is my little take.

Everybody is talking about the dire need for protagonists in the Anglophone imbroglio to sit down and dialogue.
If such a meeting were to be summoned, the Anglophone leadership will be caught napping. Worse, the regime could attempt to vitiate the talks by appointing lackeys or compradors (Atanga Nji and his ilk).
That is why it is urgent for an All Anglophone Leadership Conference to be summoned.
I propose the following as attendees at that Confab:
1. EMA: Elad, Munzu, Ayangwe: This is the troika that steered the struggle for Anglophone liberation in the 90s until the Cause petered out.
2. Felix Agbor Balla: the current phase of the struggle was ignited by the lawyers. He commanded the SW Front.
3. Harmony Bobga: Like his counterpart in the SW Region, Bobga stoked the flame in the NW Region.
4. A representative each from the All Anglophone Teachers' Trade Union: a few names are becoming prominent- Tassang, Tameh…
5. The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church: his role will be to serve as a moral voice. He has made public pronouncements on the matter.
6. The Archbishop of the Bamenda Diocese: Another moral voice. The Catholic Church is, besides, a huge educational machine. The Bishop has already issued a Letter on the crisis - presumably after dissecting it.
7. Prof Ndiva Kofele Kale: He could serve as an Adviser. Besides his international reputation, he has concentrated on the Anglophone Problem for decades (in fact, it has been his cheval de bataille).
8. There is a need for the inclusion of a Moslem leader. Can someone suggest a name?
9. Hon Joe Wirba: He virtually declared the independence of Anglophone Cameroon when he mounted the rostrum in the National Assembly during the last session. He is intrepid.
10. Hon Ayah: he is a man of courage; a representative of the people and an outspoken political leader; also, a brittle legal mind.
11. Victor Epie Ngome: He belongs to the Civil Society. He could serve as a Secretary to the group. He walks the talk of the Anglophone Problem. It is illustrative of the person that he authored What God Has Put Asunder (a play).
12. Nfor Ngala Nfor: as the incumbent leader of the SCNC.

NB: At the first meeting, to be chaired by the eldest member, participants shall elect a Chairperson, a Secretary and a Spokesman.

What do you think?
