Why should
this troubled world
ever be grateful to
a glider?
Our world is troubled,
and so we cannot glide
gratitude is due
only to those who with
blistered foot, and bruised heart,
who trudged this rough earth
and gave up their hearts
not gliders!

I will glide
Through this expanse.
I will glide
To the hereafter.
I will await
The gratitude
Of a grateful world.
