Biko, I have merely asked whether that logic of blaming others but ourselves is satisfactory. My interest is in the African oral performance of the invitation to reason.
That, to me, is an interesting entry into the discourse on logic in African philosophy.
Thanks.
Obododimma.

How can you infer that we deserve what we get from pests because we are not thinking straight? Presumably, the Mafia are right in calling themselves the Wise Guys and Charlie Boy is right in calling us Mugus. However, when it comes to illness and death of the mother, it is not that we do not know that it is malaria or typhoid, armed robbers or corruption, kwashiokor or the use of starvation as a legitimate weapon of war. The philosophy of hedonism does not always apply to sickness as a rational choice by the sick. The conditions in which our people strive to survive are not chosen by the people but are imposed by forces beyond our control and still we rise and keep surviving. Why? Subject: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Our Odelele Choice
Let us think about how African oral cultures philosophize about the
suicidal choices we make today as individuals and societies. I have
approached the discourse from the Igbo proverbial expression about the
consumption of the toadstool. Read the full essay on this by clicking
