Re – Today being International Holocaust Remembrance Day
The significance of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day cannot be overemphasised.

In today's civilised Europe - and that includes Civilised Sweden , racism, antiSemitism, xenophobia and Islamophobia is an everyday topic of conversation with the people I meet, and I meet people from everywhere on a daily basis, human beings from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Holland, Ireland, Germany, the UK, the USA, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia, Angola, Togo, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gambia, Chile, Argentina, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Cameroon, Libya, Venezuela, Cuba, China, Egypt, Shierra Leone, Liberia,Tanzania, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Somalia, Jordan and lots of other places.
There are too many personal and other stories to tell.
With regard to the Holocaust and especially to those who are sceptics, those who feel no sympathy or empathy, and the very many who are still suffering from "denialism " I often especially try to bring it all home to the attention of my African and my Muslim brethren, again , especially with the resurgence in this day and age of ugly racism (in Europe ) antiSemitism (in Europe) xenophobia ( in Europe) and Islamophobia (in Europe ) I present them with the terrifying proposition by asking us all to imagine Nazis (God forbid) in charge of today's EU issuing first of all a set of laws to apply specially to us, laws called The Nuremberg Laws shortly thereafter followed by a FINAL SOLUTION Decree that all Black People, all Africans and those who look like Africans, all Muslims and all Jews should either report to the nearest police station or be forcibly rounded up (God forbid) to be transported to concentration camps and to be lined up there, to be burned en mass in incinerators and gassed to death in gas chambers.

How Many Africans /people of African descent live in Europe ?
One answer : Europe's black population has increased by at least a million over the last decade ( some figures given - Nigeria leads the League)
Many of the Holocaust survivors are now very old, have passed away and are passing away, the few who are still with us are still giving their testimonies of what happened ; in the absence of such testimonies there are the deniers who insist that nothing happened....
On Wednesday, I was at this event In Memory of the Holocaust and have reserved Kenneth Hermele's book "A Shetl in Stockholm" Looking forward with some expectation as a member of his family is going to be my next door neighbour in March, this year.
