By Chidi Anthony Opara
The wheel rotated,
Friends became enemies,
Karma delivered as usual.
The hanging on 10th October
Makes me neither
Happy nor sad,
I am indifferent.
I was a Biafran child,
My source
Of protein was blocked
In a war I know nothing about,
I had kwashiorkor.
My siblings,
My cousins
Had kwashiorkor too.
Some died,
Some were deformed,
Some survived but lost faith
In the nationhood charade.
The hanging on 10th October
Makes me neither
Happy nor sad,
I am indifferent.
