Today, I begin a mini-series on our prominent women, extremely creative, talented, accomplished and super-successful.
Let me start with Sade Adu and âNo Ordinary Loveâ The brilliant poem and the musical rendition display an ambiguity difficult to resolve.
The intentions of the song writer include trauma and betrayal, but Sadeâs voice brings hope and redemption. This is a song in the hands of a genius, and she wants you to read not just the words but the voice. When I asked her in London what does she mean, she said you have to read the words and song in relation to your own mood, not hers.

Forget her look! She was born in my city of Ibadan!! In later years, she received major awards from her second countryâ"Order of the British Empire, and Commander of the British Empire.
There is nothing creative she cannot do: she is a fashion designer, song writer, poet, vocalist. Her debut album, âDiamond Lifeâ, has been described as one of the best music to come from England, and listed as one of the best music you must listen to before you die. She won the Grammy and acted in a movie, âAbsolute Beginners.â
As far as music goes, Sade does everything, everything.

I gave you all the love I got
I gave you more than I could give
I gave you love
I gave you all that I have inside
And you took my love
You took my love
Didn't I tell you What I believe
Did somebody say that A love like that won't last
Didn't I give you All that I've got to, give baby
I gave you all the love I got
I gave you more than I could give
I gave you love I gave you all that I have inside
And you took my love
You took my love
I keep crying
I keep trying for you
There's nothing like you and I baby
This is no ordinary love
No ordinary love
This is no ordinary love
No ordinary love
When you came my way
You brightened every day
With your sweet smile
Didn't I tell you What I believe
Did somebody say that
A love like that won't last
Didn't I give you All that I've got to, give baby
This is no ordinary love No ordinary love
This is no ordinary love
No ordinary love
I keep crying I keep trying for you
There's nothing like you and I baby
This is no ordinary love
No ordinary love
This is no ordinary love
No ordinary love Keep trying for you
Keep crying for you
Keep flying for you
Flying, falling
Falling
Keep trying for you
Keep crying for you
Keep flying for you
Flying, falling Falling
This is an interesting read.
I look forward to the next...
Grace.
