Lucky Dube called for revolution by the masses against their 'oppressors' in his 1997 Taxman Album. In 'well fed Slave/Hungry Free man' one of the tracks on the album, he suggested that the suffering masses had a choice: Continue to live under the yoke of the squalor that defined their existence or do something to redress their misfortune. In other words, remain a slave or be a free person. He urged the poor and oppressed to do some self-examination.
