According to experts this year's US presidential elections will be decided by just 5.5 million voters from the country's six or seven swing states a mere 2% of total US population.
This is because of the electoral college system in use for centuries which means the winner of the popular vote may not turn out to be the winner of the presidential contest as was demonstrated in 2016 in the contest between Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump.
