ASP 60th Anniversary Colloquium Series: Trajectories of African Liberationist Thought, Dr. Toyin Falola
January 26 | 4:00 - 6:00 pm | Grand Hall, Maxwell 101
Professor Toyin Falola, Jacob & Frances Sanger Mossiker Chair in the Humanities, and Professor of History at the University of Texas, will explore the historical and cultural trajectory of African Liberationist thought. By connecting past pan-African coalition-building strategies to contemporary manifestations of Afro-Futurism, Falola unveils evolving connections across time, nations, and forms of expression that situate Africa's lasting importance in global movements. Opening poem by Maria Hamilton Abegunde, Assistant Professor, African American and African Diaspora Studies, Indiana University.
