Let me join Ojogbon Agba TF and "such a great cloud of witnesses," to congratulate Professor Ademola Dasylva, and say that in addition to his vision and mission of service, compassion, and positive outcomes, as underscored in TF's tribute, I would like to add friendship, unquenchable appetite and capability for deeply rooted intellectual erudition, unalloyed spirituality, commitment to truth - no matter how bitter and unwelcomed, transparent honesty and seriousness of purpose, not to even mention the insatiable grit for commitment to family. All these are not mutually exclusive - they are collectively crocheted into the persona of our friend and brother, a hallmark of a holistic human architectural masterpiece, a renaissance man with the enviable DNA of a giant human-being.
"If one's daughter is beautiful," as the saying goes, "one may as well say it; after all, one cannot be accused of wooing her for an in-house marriage to oneself." Honestly, I have always personally appreciated Professor Dasylva's commitment to serving motherland. In a crowd of true citizens, Professor Dasylva stands shoulder-higher than most of his peers as a lover of our nation, serving her in all sincerity, unalloyed, unperturbed. To work through our system for this length of time untarnished, and come out with an unsoiled garment and a name still intact, is a tribute to a special man endowed with the wisdom of Solomon, the judgment of Daniel, and the humility of Moses. I have to thank God for this man. Congratulations on your retirement. You earned it. Seriously, you do!
Happy Birthday also! In a nation where we are not given a chance to live to be even 50, for a person to attain the rare septuagenarian status is a milestone worthy of celebration. You are highly celebrated. Professor Ademola Dasyva, may your tribe increase among us. Happy Birthday to you.
