Abdulakeem sodeeq on this platform is an academic librarian with 14 published papers, offering himself as a volunteer for the proposed Toyin Falola Africa library foundation . maybe we make him the acting technical director of this project and i would take the role of acting project coordinator.
-- in addition to the two volunteers thats me and sodeeq, we have potentially or already two Donors in the persons of professor kenneth harrow and toyin vincent adepoju, they have both raised the issue of safety and security of the books, we should also be thinking of rainfall, flood or leaking roofs and maybe some damaging insects.
there should be a mode of conveying the books to the desired destination at very little cost to both sides or no cost at all.
maybe we have to set up a virtual shipping company. i do not mean we own a ship. the books can come into africa in trickles, cartons, suitcases ,brief cases, crates or containers the all mighty containers at litttlle or no cost. i see there is an organisation called BOOK2Africa we studied them and perhaps we could do some things together, we do not have to re invent the wheel, we could learn from them
