Humanity, Really?

A True short Story

Real names, Real places!

KingSamuels Adebayo

The Painting, 2050 is a warning to humanity: implement major changes or face an unprecedented catastrophe by 2050. Imagine a monstrous creature hovering over Earth, poised to strike and cause irreversible destruction.

But wait! This grim fate can be avoided if we start doing the simple things we all claim to want: equality, freedom, true diversity, friendship, love, and peace.

Sounds easy, right? Well, maybe not quite. But if we act now, we can create a brighter future instead of living in a dystopian nightmare.

"2050," a monochrome abstract painting by KingSamuels Adebayo, has dazzled Bradford, Greece, and London audiences. This artwork narrates humanity's saga: from the dawn of man to present times, chronicling continued slavery, human division, hatred, power struggles, wars, and needless conflicts. The painting's striking simplicity encapsulates the chaotic, age-old human story, urging viewers to reflect on our shared history and the urgent need for change.

In a bold move, KingSamuels put this monochrome masterpiece, "2050," up for sale at an astonishing £1 billion, with the entire amount pledged to 100 charities listed on the Instagram page. The offer was sent to Sir Richard Branson in a grand gesture through an open and personal letter dated July 28, 2023. This audacious proposal underscores the painting's value and my commitment to philanthropy and societal impact.

In a twist worthy of a dramatic saga, I found myself homeless during the journey to the manifestation of the sale.

On August 26, 2023, I donated all my belongings, including my African traditional crown and several important paintings, to the Brent Art Council Charity Shop in Welling, London. I told the manager I'd retrieve "2050," the £1 billion painting, once I found a place, and she agreed.

The manager dropped a bombshell over the phone days later: "The painting is gone," she said. "All the paintings have disappeared, stolen."
