The questions persist: When is pernicious corruption going to be wiped out and when is the rule of law  going to be established ?

Talking about " lived history", more than once upon a time some of us have found ourselves in this kind of situation , saved by the bell,  saved by the merciful, invisible hand of Divine Intervention.

How else do you look at this map and explain the miracle of Israel's existence ?

Or rather, more specifically how does the Holocaust fit into your paradigms and how do you think " Nerve Again" will  be  achieved ?

Let us hope that the protesters in Iran don't quote you as a justification or an understanding that supports/ countenances the violence that they are unleashing, and that a Boko Haram under siege does not take as a Divine Command appropriate to their situation, the Quranic verse that begins "and slay them wherever you find them"

As you say, " If insecurity were exclusively Muslim suffering, mosques alone burned, Muslim communities alone ravaged, it is entirely plausible that many Pentecostal leaders would have spoken softly, abstractly, even theologically."

Indeed, as the alliterative Chidi would have put it, the Pentecostal Pastors would have been pontificating from the pulpit, theologically - especially theo-logically, that it was GOD'S WRATH , and the pious Talmudic rabbis even at the risk of endangering progress on the Abraham Accords have not been resisting the urge to quote and to expound Genesis 16:12 to their hearts content .

My dear Chief Cornelius,

Thank you for pressing the question the way only lived history allows. Let me respond, carefully, but firmly, and I hope you will hear this in the warm, fraternal spirit in which it is offered.

What you wrote earlier is not a linear argument so much as a collage of fear, memory, prophecy, grievance, theology, and geopolitical anxiety. I do not say that dismissively. Quite the opposite. Texts like yours matter precisely because they reveal how the world is now felt, not merely how it is analysed. And politics, as we both know, is increasingly governed by feeling long before it submits to reason.

Your Sierra Leone analogy goes to the heart of it. The line "they like - as long as they don't bring it here" is the oldest lie of comfortable societies. Freetown learned, brutally, on 6 January 1999, that violence does not respect distance, indifference, surnames, accents, or imagined immunity. The RUF did not arrive because the city invited them; they arrived because disorder had been tolerated elsewhere, explained away as "bush trouble," safely distant from civilisation.

History is pitiless on this point: when injustice is normalised "over there," it eventually migrates "over here."

Nigeria today sits uncomfortably close to that lesson. If insecurity were exclusively Muslim suffering, mosques alone burned, Muslim communities alone ravaged, it is entirely plausible that many Pentecostal leaders would have spoken softly, abstractly, even theologically. Not necessarily out of cruelty, but out of the same human weakness you describe among pre-1999 Freetown elites: the comfort of believing oneself exempt. But violence does not respect exemptions.

And this connects, unexpectedly but truthfully, to the wider world you reference, Israel, Iran, America, power, prophecy. What we are witnessing globally is not theology in action but power anxiety dressed up in sacred language. Netanyahu, like Museveni and others who have outlived political patience, has converted external threat into internal insurance. The claim of being uniquely "anointed" to speak to Washington is not faith; it is leverage. And leverage, once exposed, loses its sanctity.

Even the famous Sharon quote, apocryphal or not, points less to secret control than to a more uncomfortable truth: societies prefer myths of hidden hands because they absolve visible institutions of responsibility. America does not act because it is "controlled"; it acts because it repeatedly chooses power over principle. Israel survives not by miracle, but by alliances, deterrence, technology, and the paralysis of international accountability.

This is why Holocaust analogies, though emotionally potent, must be handled with care. Existential fear is real. Genocidal rhetoric exists. But when every conflict is framed as annihilation, restraint becomes treason and law becomes optional. Perpetual emergency follows, and democracy withers quietly inside it.

Your reflections on Tel Aviv expose something else: the moral obscenity of religious absolutism on all sides. Those who would celebrate its destruction as divine wrath, and those who would justify its obliteration as strategic necessity, are mirror images of the same failure. God does not require missiles as instruments, and justice does not demand incineration.

This brings us back to Blake's Nobodaddy. When God becomes a tribal asset, a political shield, or an alibi for cruelty, He ceases to be God and becomes ideology. Surah Al-Ikhlas says it more cleanly than any polemic ever could: God neither begets nor is begotten. He is not a faction leader. He is not on retainer.

On Trump, conspiracies, Epstein, Mossad, - these flourish where trust collapses. But Trump does not need blackmail to be reckless; ambition, narcissism, and transactional politics are more than sufficient. The tragedy of our age is not secrecy. It is brazenness.

So yes, Chief, there are answers. And the hardest one is this: selective outrage is merely delayed regret. Sierra Leone learned that in blood. Nigeria has flirted with it. The Middle East is dancing on its edge.

History is not waiting for God to intervene. It is waiting for humans to stop pretending that God is on their side.

With warmth and respect,
John

About Trump's dream of fomenting more trouble in the Islamic Republic of Iran his trump card from the old colonial playbook of "divided and rule"  - it's good to know that the riots are now under control, and to avoid any further scenario like what obtained during the last phase of the last Shah of Iran's reign when Ruhollah Musavi Khomeinii finally sent him packing at the point where the Shah's SAVAK got tired of shooting at the Iranian masses -their fellow countrymen and countrywomen, and at the point when he (  the revered Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini said "the people is the army and the army is the people", it was all over for the Shah. Right now, as real Africans, the Pentecostal brethren and women of the various sects and denominations must be doing what they like to do best, praying, chanting peacefully, peaceably, and dancing, gently ( not violently) swaying their hips to da rhythm, non-violently clapping their hands, the Anglophiles among them, with the power of soul singing  Oh Happy Day , and over there in the East, in Umuahia were I was subjected to "full immersion" in the holy waters of Igboland's own Holy River Jordan, by the Assemblies of God fanatics, in 1981 ( the Nigerian Section), for the Igbo pastors and laity, it's always some nonstop, rock till you drop. At this very moment the brethren and sistren must be happily swaying in the gentle Harmattan breeze, swaying to Omeworom ya He has done for me, happy about what their God's anointed messenger to the Nigerian Christians in their neck of the jungle has done, namely that Trump has sent tracking equipment to Nigeria - Hallel-u-jah - to assist the Nigerian Military in their special fight against the decimation of Christians, against church arsons, wanton banditry, brazen ransom kidnapping, all kinds of terrorism, lawlessness and insurrection.

What kind of assistance are they praying that God will send to wipe out pernicious corruption and establish the rule of law ?

John Onyeukwu, any answers?

If it was exclusively the decimation of Muslims, exclusively the torching and burning down of mosques , and exclusively Muslims that were at the receiving end of the worsening tide of banditry, terrorism, ransom kidnapping, unfazed lawlessness and murderous insurrections, I fear that the Pentecostals' concerns could have been akin to how some of the Super Creoles felt about the first seven years of the Sierra Leone civil war that started in 1991 and was largely confined to what persisted in their imagination as the hinterland -the former protectorate , " up country"  -" the bush" - and from the relative safety and ease where they lived in the Western Area's  Freetown  City Civilisation and environs up to Waterloo, the predominant attitude  among the Johnsons, the Williamses, Cokers, Coles, Taylors, Joneses, was, Bloody savages ! For all I care, they can go on butchering themselves for as long as they like  - as long as they don't bring it here!

All that changed on the 6th of January, 1999 when the RUF arrived in Freetown for "Operation Spare no Living Thing."

About Freetonia etc, I don't know but have been told; I myself was last there and only for 10 days (April 20 - April 30, 1970), and back to verdant Ghana  by air )

News about Iran:

Press TV

Tehran Times

The Middle East, Iran, Israel

Netanyahu will be facing an early day of judgement on October 27th, the date set for the next Israeli Elections : like Museveni, hoping to prevail again, his main argument being that he's the chosen one who can best talk to the Americans, and by "the Americans" he means his best buddy Donald J.  But why should he think that he's more anointed than his rivals or his predecessors ? As if Ariel Sharon was not telling the truth when he said " Every time we do something you tell me Americans will do this and will do that. I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it.

Israel National News

Right now Netanyahu ( certainly not Trump's redeemer, but his inspiration, inspirator, chief incitement officer and co-conspirator) along with the nation Israel must be breathing a collective sigh of relief that the sword of Damocles is temporarily not hanging over their heads, that the spectre of having to be scuttling to the nearest bomb shelter is temporarily gone, and so is the Israeli Diaspora anxiety that checks out DAILY ALERT constantly - but the fact is that Israel's enemies are just waiting for the demise of the United States, and praying that Trump continues hastening the process…

In the meantime, it's no joking matter averting an avoidable second Holocaust, the blitzkrieg total obliteration of Tel Aviv, Israel's tech industrial hub also dubbed "The Mecca of the Gay" - ( not unlike the fabled Sodom and Gomorrah) - and into ashes all their lust,  and -  God forbid , should it happen, the holy anti-LGBTQ Evangelicals, Pentecostals, the repentant paedophile priests etc, will be claiming that it was the Almighty's Divine Wrath. In the meantime, thank God the promised obliteration of Tel Aviv by Iranian missiles, is at least temporarily on hold and  as of now, no longer hanging over their heads. Of course, since very long ago the mystical  pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night that guided the ancient Israelites through the wilderness for forty years,  manna falling from the sky for their breakfast , lunch and supper and  - another of course, miraculously their shoes did not get worn out , just like the Sotah ritual, such miracles seem to have disappeared ,their efficacy fallen into desuetude, assuming that just like the metaphorical Swords of Damocles, they ever existed at all,,,

What are the implications of God the Almighty as  "Nobodaddy"  - nobody's daddy i.e. Blake's Nobodaddy ( in essential agreement with Surah Al-Ikhlas

Trump on Iran  - at this stage we must take whatever the mercurial Trump says, with a pinch of salt because at the heart of the Epstein files conspiracy theories lurks the thesis that Epstein the MOSSAD agent has the goods on Trump , and the goods are safely lodged somewhere in the Holy Land ( I suppose in New York too ) and from there they have Trump dancing like a helpless puppet to do their bidding  -or else !
